The holidays are here, and this weekend is about to get a little crazy at the shopping malls with insane hours and door-buster deals. This is a time that’s always left us feeling conflicted. Sure, “Black Friday” and “Small Business Saturday” mean more sales for us but is that really what the Holidays are about? We’re doing things differently this year at eden and participating in #goodkarmaisthenewblackfriday this weekend.
If you have some shopping you’d like to do with us we will be donating 10% of all purchases from Friday 11/25 -Monday 11/28 to Youth Emergency Services & Shelter (YESS), an amazing local charity that meets the critical needs of the community by providing a continuum of quality programs designed to keep children safe and families together.
Join us for a SOIL + TOIL trunk show this Sunday, August 21st 12-4 pm
Soil + Toil Ceramics was designed and created by Paige Stewart.
Paige grew up in Des Moines, Iowa. She carried her midwestern heart with her as she studied Art and Psychology at Western State University in Gunnison, Colorado. She moved to Los Angeles on a whim and with the wind in 2012 and is so grateful to be in a city where she can allow herself to follow the path of her creativity which has moved from drawing, writing, painting, dancing, and found a home in ceramics.
We’re packing up for a few days for a little 3 day summer retreat with our friends from Kiehl’s in the Windy City!
Yes, eden will be CLOSED Monday, July 25th-Wednesday, July 27th.
We recently discovered that of the 85 independent stores that carry Kiehl’s, little Miss eden is in the top 15 in the nation! This is all thanks to you and your support. We’re truly honored and want to keep that success going.
Some of you may already know, I had to go through quite a bit of red tape to get approval to carry Kiehl’s. My first attempt ended with a rejection letter, saying they weren’t interested in distributing their line in Iowa. I didn’t understand and felt defeated at the time, but I’m not one to take no for an answer so easily. So the next year I tried again. Six months of conversations followed and my request was approved at last.
Thank you in advance for your understanding. I realize this is going to be a bit of an inconvenience, however, in our 13 years in business, this is our first eden family road trip. I think we may be overdue. – Jen
And we do.
Thanks Kiehl’s for the sweet reminder.

The weekend normally known as Black Friday/Small Business Saturday/Cyber Monday has always been a time that has left us feeling conflicted. Sure, more sales for us but is that really what the Holidays are about?
The Wild Unknown started this wonderful movement and we encourage our fellow makers and brick and mortars to join too. Head to their website www.thewildunknown.com to learn more and help us save the Holiday Spirit.
