Dearest NYC, you were a fabulous host as always, but it feels good to be home. The New York Gift show was amazing and I can’t wait to share my finds with all of you! This trip was much more than going to market for me. I spent the first 24 hours in the concrete jungle by myself. I arrived on a Friday and the gift show wasn’t starting until Saturday, the same day my friend/travel buddy was due to arrive. I’m usually a planner, but I ended up making no concrete plans for the day. I started heading in the direction of the upper east side and let the universe take over (as best I could) which led me to lunch at The Chat Noir, an amazing facial at the Kiehl’s spa, a quick tour of the Guggenheim, and a bit of shopping on Madison Avenue. I ended the day with dinner at Patsy’s Pizza and a movie, “Amour”. Probably not the best choice for my first movie to see alone, but it’s good to get out of my comfort zone once in awhile. Cheers to a new month. Bring it, February.
FRAGRANCE FRIDAY Stop in for a sample of Fresh Citron De Vigne (and maybe a little bubbly) today!
Inspired by Reims, France’s Champagne region, CITRON DE VIGNE EAU DE PARFUM is a crisp, sparkling, sensual blend that is ideal for both men and women. An innovative heart note of pinot noir accord—comprised of bergamot, dark almond, musk, white sandalwood, and rose—is combined with bubbling citrus top notes and an earthy base in this unique, everyday scent. Available in a new rollerball for just $20.
Fridays just got a little more fun at eden. While we take a break from late first fridays until the spring thaw, we’ve decided to do something special in it’s place for the remainder of winter. Starting tomorrow, EVERY Friday we are going to feature a different fragrance and offer a free sample of the featured fragrance for you to take home.
Meet Diptyque L’Ombre dans l’Eau Poetically named L’Ombre dans l’Eau, “The Shadow in the Water,” it is a fragrance that recalls a lush garden at water’s edge and a brief glimpse of life, captured in the memory of a friend of the three founders. One day, this dear one was gathering roses and blackcurrant; stretching her hand out to Desmond Knox-Leet, she suggested that he work on this accord, one of potent originality.
tis the season to decorate the windows for the holidays!
the eden elves have been hard at work for days creating this snowy wonderland. we were inspired to do something different for this year’s window when the east village encouraged us to incorporate lights in our displays for an upcoming window display contest for holiday promenade. after much deliberation, one day i stumbled upon blabla’s beautiful fall forest windows on their blog, and i knew that i wanted to attempt a winter version of it. so a forest was built. it’s amazing what you can create with chicken wire, masking tape, glue, white tissue, and a little (lot) of elbow grease. pizza and champagne don’t hurt either.
huge thanks to joey for having such a beautiful vespa (the duchess), and to eden friends mike and betsy for lending their time and crafting skills. this could not have happened without you!
we think the end result is pretty spectacular.
fingers crossed our little eden window gets lots of votes friday night!
SAVE THE DATE: Holiday Promenade Friday, November 16th 5-9PM
For our most recent print ads we decided to use an old favorite from 2003. Mr Jones was our kitty. He was a good guy. He was in several ads and in a few photo shoots for Meredith Corporation. He liked to take baths with Jennifer. Not so much in the water but he was Jen’s shadow and would circle the tub till bath-time was over. John
Jen’s late grandma visited Paris 40 years ago. One of the few things she brought back from her trip was a postcard from a store in Paris named eden. You can guess what job number one was when we visited Paris in the fall of 2010.
